Results from the 2025-26 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) tests were recently released by the Minnesota Department of Education. The results by St. Francis Area Schools students in reading and science rank above the state average.

Spring 2026 was the first time the new Reading MCA test was administered. The district posted a proficiency score that ranked above the state average. The new science test was administered for the second time in 2026. The district saw a small decline from 2025, but is above the state average.

In math, the district dipped slightly from last year and is 1% below the state average. The small drop occurred after the district recorded a 6% improvement in proficiency rates from 2024 to 2025.

“Our educators will review results by grade level and skill area to better understand where students are strong and where they need support,” said Superintendent Karsten Anderson. “We are on the right path.”
