Three seats on the St. Francis Area Schools School Board will be up for election on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The filing period for interested community members to serve a four-year term on the school board runs from July 14-28.
Three at-large seats will be filled by a general election. Elected board members will take office in January 2027 and serve until January 2031.

Obtain an Affidavit of Candidacy on the Secretary of State's website.[Affidavit PDF]
Paper copies of the Affidavit of Candidacy will also be available at the district office.
File your notarized Affidavit of Candidacy, along with a $2 filing fee at St. Francis Area Schools: 4115 Ambassador Blvd NW Saint Francis, MN 55070
Summer hours for the district office are Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., July 28 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
A notary can be available at the district office with prior notice. Call 763-753-7022 for an appointment.

To qualify for election, candidates for an elected school board office must:
Be eligible to vote in Minnesota
Be at least 21 years old upon assuming office
Have maintained residence in their district for at least 30 days before the general election
Have not filed for another office at the upcoming primary or general election (unless authorized by Minn. Stat. 367.033)
Have not been convicted of an offense for which they are required to register as a predatory offender under Minn. Stat. 243.166
